french people don’t like advertising

In all the countries of the world, the Hexagon is seen as one in which rejects the most publicity.Several research institutes made polls in this last ten years and the verdict is each time the same : the french don’t like advertising ,and it’s getting worse and worse.

In 2005 , the survey of TNS Sofres/Stratégies show that 37% of french are favorable to advertising and 43% of french are against to advertising. In 2009 , Nielsen institut poll 25 500 consumers in 50 different markets on the fonction that they attribute to the advertisement , and while advertising is displayed across the street, only 35% of French believe it provides useful information on key social issues. A slap for french’s brands, advertisers and media.

France has one of the most stringent laws and more severe in terms of advertising expression. At the same time, its population is more than any other on guard against commercial messages. But more we regulate, more the distance widens between the audience and advertising, and more suspicion grows against advertising.

sponsorship in France

In France , the field of sport is the most concerned by sponsorship , with 4 billion invested in 2006 .  If there is sponsorship in sport is that it is a vector of values that enable companies toimplement strategies to increase their dedicated work on their reputation and brand image. The omnipresence of brands in the world of professional sports due to the excessive media coverage of the latter. Professional sport can be used as ashowcase to the world.

But associations and individuals also need funding. It is always difficult to complete a budget, find indispensable, that’s why there exists sponsors. You can use websites as http://www.francesponsors.com ( which is a website that allows associations and individuals to find sponsors for free ) or ask companies and traders.

In France , I have worked in the local television of Amiens , my city , « TV Amiens », created three years ago by B.Elmouden with the help of many volunteers. This association doesn’t receive help from the state , and they make money only with sponsorchip and advertising production. They have chosen to ask financial assistance to traders of Amiens. Of course , in return , they make a television report free , to the shop or the compagny , and these new events ( exhibitions , concerts , meeting with an artist , … ).

TV Amiens has now forty-three sponsors which are sport club , shops , press club , audiovisual associations , … and always looking for news sponsors.

For more information you can see their website ( it’s in french , sorry about that) here :
